← Some important sections of IPC for the women of Manipur, in the state, as I have read news on a lot of atrocities inflicted against women. The following sections of IPC (Indian Penal Code), 1860 may help in providing legal protection to women in India: 1) Section 354: Intention to outrage the modesty of woman. 2) Section 254A: Sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment. 3) Section 354B: Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe. 4) Section 354C: Voyeurism 5) 354D: Stalking {including online stalking in 354D 1 (ii)}. 6) Section 366: Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage or force/seduce to illicit intercourse. 7) Section 376C: Sexual intercourse by a person in authority. 8 ) Section 376E: Punishment for repeat offender (life imprisonment). 9) Section 509: To insult the modesty of a woman.
